Forza Horizon 6 – Living the Car Dream in Japan

May 16, 20262 min read

I’ve been spending a lot of time playing the new Forza Horizon 6, and honestly… I’ve been ridiculously happy.

As someone who grew up loving Japanese car culture, anime, games, and eventually traveling across Japan itself, this game hits differently. Driving through roads inspired by Japan while listening to music, seeing the atmosphere, the lights, the mountains, the city streets… it feels like a weird mix of nostalgia, fantasy, and relaxation all at once.

What’s made the experience even more special for me is that I’m trying to rebuild the cars I actually owned throughout my life.

So far, I was only able to buy my S14 Silvia (240SX), which was actually the second car I owned in real life. The first car I ever had isn’t in the game yet, a 1986 300ZX (Fairlady Z). Hopefully they add it eventually because I absolutely need that car in my garage haha.

Honestly, I’m committed now. I’m going to try collecting every car I’ve owned in real life, even the Cube and the Juke lol.

There’s just something really fun and personal about it. It turns the game into more than just racing. It becomes memories tied to different phases of life.

And visually? This game is absolutely beautiful.

I have everything cranked to Extreme settings on my graphics card, and Japan just looks insanely aesthetic in this game. The lighting, rainy streets, countryside roads, neon city vibes… they nailed the atmosphere.

One of the craziest races I’ve had so far was against a giant robot. Maybe it was a reference to Mobile Suit Gundam? Maybe Patlabor? Could honestly be a bunch of different references.
